Originally founded as a pure design studio, we quickly realised that successful visuality requires not only a creative idea but also a clean conceptualisation. Over the years, we have built up extensive brand expertise with sound branding know-how and have developed into one of the leading branding agencies in Germany. We are proud of our long-standing client relationships at the highest creative and brand-strategic level. They are both a confirmation and an incentive for us to continue to develop. Because in an age of sensory overload, shortened attention spans and digital media, relevance is more important than ever. ![](https://justblue.de/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/justblue_aboutus_seba_joerg.jpeg) In 1998, the two creative minds Jörg Ratzlaff and Sebastian Beck joined forces and founded justblue.design, initially as a 3D and structural design studio.  As a small agency from Hamburg Altona, they succeeded in working for global companies such as Jill Sander and AB InBev. ![](https://justblue.de/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/justblue_aboutus_seba_joerg-scaled.jpg) From 2005, the strategic direction is expanded to include 2D design with a focus on packaging. This lays the foundation for a multidisciplinary agency. The team quickly develops an excellent reputation in a specialised discipline: more than three-quarters of all drink’s crates produced in Europe after 1998 are designed by justblue.design. ![](https://justblue.de/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/justblue_aboutus_team.jpg) the accompanying success, the agency also grows in terms of personnel. Through targeted recruiting, the expertise in brand design is being successively expanded. ![](https://justblue.de/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/justblue_aboutus_kitchen-min.png) The course for the future is also paved early on on the owner side. Firstly, long-standing employee Nils Ruge takes over company shares from founder Jörg Ratzlaff in 2018. New expertise in branding and marketing is gained at owner level in 2020 through Damian Selzer, who brings with him many years of professional experience on the customer side. In 2023, the circle of owners will be further expanded by Fabian Hartmann, also a long-standing employee of JUSTBLUE, and Jörg Ratzlaff will retire as owner. ![](https://justblue.de/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/justblue_kompetenzen-min-scaled.png) Over time, justblue.design has evolved from a pure design agency to a branding agency.
